Our members come from a wide range of musical backgrounds and experience levels. Some have been singing a cappella for years, while others had never sung in public before joining! Anyone is welcome to audition. Fill out the audition form and we’ll be in touch with you to set up an audition!

What to expect:

Once we receive some info from you, we’ll be in touch to schedule an audition with you via google hangouts. This means you’ll be able to join from the comfort of your own home! We’ll do some vocal warm-ups, tonal exercises, and sight reading, before we hear a prepared solo from you. The whole audition should take about 15 minutes. The audition will be run by our Director of Music, who will be joined by at least two other board members.

what to prepare:

Choose any song you’d like and prepare to sing about 30 seconds of it in your audition without accompaniment. It can be any genre you wish, pick whatever you feel shows off your voice best!

After the Audition:

Those who pass the audition will be invited to participate in the next full session. For example, if you audition in February, you will be able to sing starting in the Summer Session.

Members are required to submit an interest survey three times a year to indicate their intent to participate in each session. On the interest survey, you can choose whether you’d like to participate in the weekly or biweekly group, or take a session off.

Members typically pay dues of $30 per session. If you choose to take a session off, dues are reduced to $5 for that session. Members experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to request an exemption by speaking to a Board Member.
